I love that you’re a confident solo traveler and are open to new experiences. You have a talent for connecting with people. You don’t fear the strangeness of strangers. Because of this, you’ll make many new friends on your European adventure. Enjoy!
I love that...."the strangeness of strangers!" I was in NYC yesterday after dropping the Blue Car off near Port Newark/New York and just smiled as I walked around Hell's Kitchen on the west side of Manhattan where my brother lives. Perhaps NYC has the "strangest" of strangers and i truly love it. The quirky nature of the people who live and work there touch my heart in such lovely ways.
Drove it down. Mechanic pulled carburetor apart and cleaned it, did a bunch of other things. It’s running well although a bit cranky to start after sitting a while but that’s always been the case.
Loved reading this and all your posts. Makes me want to go somewhere while I can still see what there is to see! And I know "someone" has a birthday day coming up soon, so wishing you an early very HAPPY one, wherever you are and celebrating.
I love how your experiences have been that being solo can make you more available to be with others, and also more available to be with yourself. I chuckled at your thoughts of humor speaking to the front desk gentleman who gave you the 2 keys :-)

My old stomping grounds for a couple of years. Yeah, in NYC it feels like you’re on a stage in a play with a cast of story-full characters.
So, did you drive the Blue Car down there or trailer it? What was the solution to the no-start issue?

Oh that’s great news! I was worried about the Blue Car being ready for the trip.
Lovely post Susan. Lovely stories.
Brava Susan, love your solo adventuring! Love the mindset, the stories. Keep them coming!
Thanks for reading Heli!
Great line: "I don't equate alone with lonely."
You are going on a wonderful journey full of stories tor report on.
So good.
Solo travel to new places is enriching. To do so in an interesting old car makes it even more fun as it helps to break the ice with many passersby.
You are so right Doug. It almost feels like cheating...the Blue Car does so much of the work when I am road tripping. LOL
I admire your candid descriptions of solo travel as you made me aware of the need for detailed planning. Safe and fun travels in your Blue Car! Sue

Yes! it is a tension. A tension that comes with great rewards, but a tension nonetheless.
